It's difficult to dig up information because most of the group history is not recorded, which is really true of most groups except for maybe twelve tribes and bobo ashanti. It's difficult to find written and/or online materials for nyabinghi as well, even though it is so prevalent in Jamaica (in particular).

I don't identify with the Rastafari movement myself, but it's interesting to learn about it. My first visit to the Carribean sparked my interest in the music and culture. But that's not the same as being someone from within, creating and building up the people.

I have a different african movement that I identify with because I have been explicit a part of that tradition. However, it's not uncommon for people in my own tradition to be Rastafari as well. It's just that my life has never seen these paths intersect.

Interestingly, Angola has a strong connection to the movement I am in, so I would particularly interested if anyone digs anything more up on remi.
